Selection of wood flooring finishes

The right finish protects wood flooring from wear, dirt and moisture while giving the wood an attractive color and sheen. You can see our selection of wood flooring finishes below.

Oil

The wood is being finished with 1 or 2 layers. These layers are being applied and spread by a machine.  Various oils can be used.

.

Ageing

The ageing of floorboards gives an old and antique look to the floor. The boards are being ‘damaged’ by the use of several techniques such as ‘drumming’ and ‘walsen’, which results in the required aged look.

Sawing

The floorboards are being sawn by the saw blade in a different direction. As a result, the floorboards become rough and this gives a special effect because of the saw.

.

Fuming

Ammonia fuming is a wood finishing process that darkens wood and brings out the grain pattern. It consists of exposing the wood to fumes from a strong aqueous solution of ammonium hydroxide, which reacts with the tannins in the wood.

Brushing

This type of finish gives a warm, timeless look, and it’s one of the most in-demand styles. Wire-brushed laminate flooring exposes the grain of the wood look to bring enhanced definition to each plank.

.

Burn-stain

Burn-staining the floor will provide a rustic look that other methods can’t match, with the help of used oil.
